Student to Professional
Too often students make it through university without experiencing the chaotic magic of a full feature length film production. It can be a grueling, magical, electric experience that proves they are ready for the entertainment industry. However features are often outside the experience level of students, and thus The Raft Genre is dedicated to leading students via industry professionals and faculty to not only get them feature length credits, but paid for their work as well.
Midwest Production
The Raft Genre intends to bring the production to the Midwest, not only as an industry, but to spotlight the natural beauty of the Midwest on camera as well.
Diversity
We are committed to getting more and more underrepresented groups on screen, in production roles, and becoming a driving force of the industry.
Financial Transparency
This studio is not a black hole where donor funds, crowdfunding, and other income flows in and seemingly disappears. Every cent that is donated\generated goes to acquiring equipment, paying student employees, or furthering the mission of the student. Our financial records are always available upon request.
